Technology has become so important in both our business and personal lives. I’m amazed at how we now have all the information in the world safely packaged in our smart phones. It wasn’t that long ago that we had to go to an encyclopedia to write a high school term paper.

As we start off this new year, I though I’d share some of my favorite apps and technology that I use on a regular basis.

FlipBoard- Allows you to design your own business and leadership magazine. You can include only the topics that interest you the most.

Amazon.com – I use this app not only for office supplies, especially toner, but with a Prime membership I can download books instantly to my tablet. Some titles I can borrow for free! And free is good!

Adult Coloring – I decompress with a little coloring now and then. A great destresser. And it brings out my inner child.

TED Talks – This app is a great way to view business talks by great business leaders. And, again, best of all they are free.

Workboard – This is available both as a desktop and an app. We have switched all our staff over to this. I have grown to love, love, love this. It really helps keep track of those “to do’s” in your email that can get easily lost.

LinkedIn – Networking is so important these days, and having a profile on LinkedIn is the place to get notices. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to connect both with those you know and those you don’t.

QuickBooks – I use this for both business and in my personal finances. If you’re looking take control of your finances, don’t miss out on this software.

Office365 – Take Microsoft office to the cloud. Stay up to date on all the latest and greatest from Microsoft. If you’re a non profit make sure to use TechSoup for reduced prices on technology.

These are just a few of my go to’s that I actually go to on a daily basis.

And remember: H-app-y teching in 2016…..,
